3. Continuing to hustle and utilize size

The Los Angeles Lakers are making up for what they lack in a veteran leader currently (although Derrick Rose coming to L.A. is still possible) with a young backcourt with speed, hustle and good basketball IQ.

A trifecta of Lonzo Ball, Josh Hart and Kyle Kuzma pushing the pace on the court will be interesting to see.

This is where Kuzma best asserts himself and fits well into the Lakers’ new core. He has great movement up and down the court and although his previously stated size needs slight improvement compared to other bigs, he is still in good NBA shape.

Light on his feet and creating space off the ball makes him a perfect pairing with Lonzo Ball and his skill-set.

Without leaning too much on NBA Summer League results, what is most intriguing is how he performed without Ball on the court. If his skills in the Summer League translate to the regular season, Kuzma’s ability as the stretch 4 the Lakers needed may be preferred over Julius Randle.
