Washington Wizards: 5 takeaways from 2017 NBA Summer League

3. Kevin Pangos a pleasant surprise — at first
Kevin Pangos was a pleasant surprise during the Wizards’ tournament play. He looked great on both sides of the floor, although his shot wasn’t as consistent as Sheldon Mac’s.
Pangos operates best at being a facilitator, exhibiting good basketball IQ, court vision and pushing the pace when the ball is in his hands.
His Summer League debut against the Memphis Grizzlies was easily his best performance. He finished the night with eight points, seven rebounds, seven assists, two blocks and two steals. The Euroleague star simply was able to do it all that night.
However, he never returned to form for the remainder of the Wizards tournament play.
It seemed possible he may have earned an opportunity with the Wizards, but instead they opted for Devin Robinson.
Pangos is an all around solid player, and you shouldn’t be surprised to see him possibly make a return next year. In the meantime, he recently signed with Lithuanian powerhouse BC Zalgaris Kaunas.
Kevin Pangos finished the Summer League with 10.5 points and 3.9 assists per game, all while shooting 60.9 percent from the field and 53.3 percent from the perimeter.
