Kyrie Irving interested in trade to San Antonio Spurs

Does it make sense?
Any time you can get a top player in the league, it’s hard to say it doesn’t make sense. Sure, Irving is only under contract for two more seasons. And yes, he did say he wanted to be the face of a franchise.
But he also said the Spurs are a team he would like to go to. He knows they have Leonard, an MVP finalist. And if he wants to go there, there’s a good chance he’d re-sign in two years, especially if they’re successful in bringing in a third star.

Kyrie Irving would bring so much to the team on and off the court. Whether it be points, big shots, future free agents or jersey sales, there are more pros than cons when bringing in a young superstar. Short of Leonard, or San Antonio Spurs legends Tony Parker and Manu Ginobili, no cost is too great when it comes to trading for him.
