On Friday it was announced Kyrie Irving asked for a trade from the Cleveland Cavaliers, and he listed the San Antonio Spurs as one of his preferred destinations.

On Friday, ESPN‘s Brian Windhorst and Adrian Wojnarowski broke the internet by reporting of Kyrie Irving‘s wishes to be traded from the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Among the reports, one of the more interesting ones was that the San Antonio Spurs were listed among one of his preferred landing spots.

Now of course, Irving does not have the power to veto trades with teams who aren’t the Spurs. In fact, Cleveland doesn’t have to trade him at all, so any trade with the team would have to result from the Cavaliers getting a good return on the All-Star.

Looking at this from a Spurs perspective, what kind of deal can be put together to acquire the star? And is such a deal even worth pursuing?
