3. Finding his rhythm and confidence from beyond the arc

Josh Hart completed his time with the Villanova Wildcats with a 38.9 three point percentage. While statistically it may seem like a reach that this is an area he can improve on, it’s very possible.

More specifically, when Josh Hart has open looks, he often opts to pass or look for another opportunity. His hesitation comes as a result of the time it takes him to load up his shot. He does not flourish when defenders close him out, leading to a more difficult contested shot.

It is very likely the Los Angeles Lakers will work on improving his mechanics to see where the timing issue lies. While it may seem questionable adjusting a player’s mechanics when he has proven capable of success, it is not unheard of.

The young rising star Kelly Oubre Jr. took the time to alter his mechanics for his jumper this offseason.

In comparison, these are two vastly different players with different strengths and weaknesses. However, the best time for these players to adjust is sooner rather than later in their careers, and Josh Hart should get on this now to improve his three-point efficiency for the long haul.
