Here are five goals the Detroit Pistons are hoping to see manifest in Luke Kennard’s game during his rookie season.

The Detroit Pistons drafted Luke Kennard with the 12th overall pick in the 2017 NBA Draft. Kennard, a native Ohioan, spent two years at Duke under the watchful eye of coach Mike Krzyzewski before being drafted by the Pistons.

Pistons’ general manager Jeff Bower explained the decision to go with Kennard over Donovan Mitchell when the team introduced Kennard to the Detroit faithful last week.

“(Predraft workouts are) important and beneficial to some degree, but our viewing in the 5-on-5 settings with college teams is where we should see all those different things – or not see them – which is just as valuable,” Bower said last Friday after the team introduced Kennard.

ESPN‘s Jay Williams proclaimed Kennard the best shooter in the 2017 draft. His shooting ability helped bolster the NBA analyst’s positive reaction to the Pistons picking Kennard with the 12th overall selection.

Kennard’s play in the NBA’s Orlando Summer League has given us a better idea of exactly what we can expect from him during his rookie season in Detroit.
