With the main players out of the way in NBA free agency, here are some potential trade options for the Philadelphia 76ers’ Jahlil Okafor.

It has been a huge couple of weeks for the Philadelphia 76ers.

It all began in the week leading up to the 2017 NBA Draft, when the Sixers president of basketball operations, Bryan Colengelo, orchestrated a trade to obtain the No. 1 overall selection. As a result, the team chose guard Markelle Fultz, who was widely touted as the consensus first overall selection.

The next course of action was free agency, and with the Sixers armed with an enormous amount of salary cap space, they decided to invest in some key veterans to support the exciting young nucleus on hand.

Shooting guard J.J. Redick was the first to sign, agreeing to a one-year, $23 million deal. With the Sixers needing a boost to their perimeter shooting, Redick’s career 41.5 three-point percentage over 11 seasons is a seen an ideal complement. The Sixers further boosted their depth with the signing of forward/center Amir Johnson.

With such an influx of talent, naturally there’s going to be existing players thrown to the side. And that’s the case for Jahlil Okafor, who already suffered last season after the emergence of center Joel Embiid. As she No. 3 overall pick in the 2015 NBA Draft, Okafor had a strong rookie season, before injury and the presence of Embiid knocked him around last season.

As presently constituted, it’s quite difficult to see where Okafor fits in the Sixers’ rotation. ESPN’s Zach Lowe even tweeted the following when referencing a Okafor trade idea floated by The Ringer’s Bill Simmons:

It’s hard to argue with Lowe’s logic. With Embiid, Dario Saric, Richaun Holmes and Johnson seemingly ahead of Okafor in the frontcourt, it wouldn’t surprise if trade talks for the Duke product  began to heat up again.

With that in mind, here are some potential trading partners for Colangelo and his front office.
