Ben McLemore: 2 years, $11 million (Memphis Grizzlies)

As far as fliers go, the Memphis Grizzlies could’ve done a lot worse than Ben McLemore on a two-year, $11 million deal.

With the Sacramento Kings declining to extend McLemore a qualifying offer, this was the best he could do in unrestricted free agency. With Tony Allen and Vince Carter being free agents this summer, McLemore serves as an insurance policy at the 2-spot.

He should get plenty of minutes right away, which probably isn’t the best sign for the Grizzlies’ upcoming season, but he’s a quality shooter who’s never played in a sound defensive system. Perhaps the move to Memphis will be exactly what his career has needed all along.
