Nick Young: 1 year, $5.2 million (Golden State Warriors)

As if the Golden State Warriors needed more swag. With their Taxpayer Mid-Level Exception still at their disposal, the defending champs used a portion of it on Nick Young, a player so well known for his on-court hilarity as “Swaggy P” that his career 37.6 percent shooting from three-point range might be overlooked.

Last season for the Los Angeles Lakers, Young averaged 13.2 points per game on 40.4 percent shooting from downtown. According to NBA.com, he was the eighth-most efficient shooter (44.2 percent) on catch-and-shoot three-pointers in the league among players who attempted at least three per game. That is terrifying for the rest of the NBA, considering he’ll be enjoying plenty of open looks playing for a team with so many weapons on the offensive end.

Young has been known as a bit of a head case for some of his antics, but this 10-year veteran is competing for a championship and brings a scoring punch off the bench. Considering what the Warriors have done with JaVale McGee and pretty much every other player they’ve added over the last few years, no maturity issues could stand in the way of this being another terrific signing WAY below his true market value.
