Tyreke Evans: 1 year, $3.3 million (Memphis Grizzlies)

Apparently the Memphis Grizzlies and Sacramento Kings just decided to swap rosters in free agency this summer, with Zach Randolph and Vince Carter heading to Sac-Town while Ben McLemore and Tyreke Evans are set to join the Grit-N-Grind.

With Vinsanity gone and Tony Allen possibly following suit in free agency, the Grizz needed some talent at the 2-guard spot beyond Wayne Selden. McLemore should get ample minutes, but he’s not a proven talent. This minor deal shows Memphis is not be ready to start folding up shop, even if McLemore’s bigger deal should pave the way to plenty of playing time.

Evans is an experienced veteran who averaged 10.3 points, 3.4 rebounds and 3.1 assists per game last season on .405/.356/.750 shooting splits last year. He’s very injury-prone despite only being 27 years old, but he’s improved as a spot-up shooter, and for such a minimal price this isn’t a bad signing. It’s just not a great addition, considering what the Grizz are losing at that position and how many games Evans has missed over the last few seasons.
