Shelvin Mack: 2 years, $12 million (Orlando Magic)

Did the Orlando Magic need a backup/third string point guard? Not necessarily, with Elfrid Payton and D.J. Augustin still on the roster, plus C.J. Watson’s deal being partially guaranteed for the upcoming season.

Still, this deal will hardly take up any cap space for the Magic, and Mack is probably a more productive player than Orlando’s two other backups at this point. Last season, he averaged 7.8 points, 2.8 assists and 2.3 rebounds per game on 44.6 percent shooting from the field.

Mack is still only 27 despite joining his fifth NBA team now, and he’ll provide some extra depth and stability for one of the league’s worst backcourts. At a manageable cost for a team with plenty of cap space, this is a decent value pickup.
