Jeff Green: 1 year, $2.3 million (Cleveland Cavaliers)

Apparently we’re still not at the point where teams have stopped talking themselves into Jeff Green. Now a 30-year-old veteran, Green is coming off a season in which he averaged a career-low 9.2 points and 3.1 rebounds per game for the Orlando Magic.

Green, a career 33.3 percent shooter from downtown, converted only 27.5 percent of his three-pointers last year. He can play multiple positions, but as many, many playoff teams have discovered by now, he cannot be relied upon as a legitimate piece for a contender.

Maybe the Cleveland Cavaliers will be different, since he’s on a minimum contract and won’t be expected to do too much off the bench. Maybe he’ll be good playing with LeBron James. Maybe…wait, what the hell? How does Jeff Green get us to keep doing this?
