C.J. Miles: 3 years, $25 million (Toronto Raptors)

After dumping DeMarre Carroll to the Brooklyn Nets, the Toronto Raptors revealed their plan to replace him: Landing C.J.Miles in a sign-and-trade with the Indiana Pacers that will send away Cory Joseph.

While giving up a first-rounder to ship off Carroll still hurts, Miles should be a marked improvement on the wing, with the versatility to guard multiple positions and the three-point range (41.3 percent last year) to spread the floor.

Three years at about $8 million a season is great value for a two-way player like Miles, especially with Carroll’s contract now off the books. Here’s hoping he’s the 3-and-D wing Toronto thought it had when it signed Carroll in the first place.
