Reggie Bullock: 2 years, $5 million (Detroit Pistons)
The Detroit Pistons need three-point shooting to space the floor around the Reggie Jackson-Andre Drummond pick-and-roll, so keeping Reggie Bullock on such a meager salary makes sense.
Bullock is coming off the best statistical season of his career, averaging a career-high 4.5 points per game while shooting 38.4 percent from three-point range on 2.4 long range attempts per game. He’s already 26 years old and only played in 31 games for Detroit last year, but perhaps his fifth NBA season will provide the charm we’ve been expecting from this 3-and-D wing.
The fact that 4.5 points per game is his career high tells you expectations need to be tempered, but perhaps he can fill his role off the bench. This isn’t a good signing, nor is it a bad signing; it’s just one of those deals that scrapes by with a passing grade and we all move along.
