Arron Afflalo: 1 year, $2.3 million (Orlando Magic)

The last time Arron Afflalo played for the Orlando Magic was in 2013-14, when he averaged a career-high 18.2 points per game on efficient .459/.427/.815 shooting splits. That was three years ago, and Afflalo’s value and production have plummeted since, but on a one-year deal this is hardly a risky reunion for Orlando.

The Magic have had a quietly productive summer, drafting Jonathan Isaac and signing Jonathon Simmons, Shelvin Mack and Marreese Speights to team-friendly deals. Their cap space has run dry, which means this is probably a veteran minimum deal ($2.3 million). That’s a more than reasonable price to continue bolstering the team’s bench.

Orlando is still surrounded by questions about blue-chip prospects and its young core, but with Simmons, Mack, Speights and Afflalo all signed to manageable deals, general manager John Hammond is already proving his worth…even if Evan Fournier and Mario Hezonja are already at the 2.
