2017 NBA free agency: 3 big names Los Angeles Lakers could still sign
The Los Angeles Lakers have made little noise since the start of 2017 NBA free agency. Despite that, there are a few big names out there who could be had for the right price.
We all knew the Los Angeles Lakers would stay relatively inactive during 2017 NBA free agency. While that has been the case, I didn’t think they would have been completely absent through the first few days. I guess it’s not that surprising considering the team’s long-term plans.
And yet, we’ve heard rumors of their early work during free agency. They’ve made a run at a few big-name players including George Hill, Dion Waiters and Andre Iguodala. While they’ve missed the mark on all of them, Magic Johnson and co. have at least been making a few calls in an effort to improve this young, inexperienced roster.
Despite failing to make a splash so far, I believe they’ll make a noteworthy move eventually. The Lakers simply can’t believe they can compete on any given night with the current roster. Sure, the young building blocks are there, but the overall talent is unmistakably underwhelming.
That’s why I’ve decided to take a look at a few big-name free agents the Lakers could still sign. Now keep in mind that just because they’re well-known players doesn’t mean they’re stars. They may have been at one point, though.
