3. Sacramento Kings

The Sacramento Kings have shown they’re not afraid to take a gamble on Otto Porter. After meeting with the small forward on Sunday, the Kings front office offered him a four-year max deal worth $106 million.

The Kings weren’t afraid to open the checkbook for Porter after they traded away DeMarcus Cousins last season. They clearly think Porter is capable of big things, particularly as a member of the club.

Sacramento had the fifth and 10th pick in the 2017 NBA Draft, selecting point guard De’Aaron Fox before trading down to add Justin Jackson (No. 15) and Harry Giles (No. 20). They could keep the youth movement going with the acquisition of Porter in free agency.

Porter is still set to meet with two other teams, leaving many to guess who other suitors are. He’s yet to sign the offer sheet with Sacramento and will not sign with anyone until after his meetings.

The Kings have certainly done their best to force the Wizards hand and it could work out for them in the long run.
