Otto Porter Jr.: 5 potential landing spots in 2017 NBA free agency
5. Orlando Magic
The Orlando Magic have around $13 million in cap space to work with in free agency. It’s not as much as what the Sacramento Kings are offering but it could still be enough to lure Otto Porter Jr. to Orlando.
The Magic are a team still in search of their identity. They traded Serge Ibaka to the Toronto Raptors for guard Terrence Ross and the Raptors’ 2017 first-round pick.
Ibaka became a member of the Magic last offseason after they shipped Ersan Ilyasova, Victor Oladipo, and the rights to draft pick Domantas Sabonis to the Oklahoma City Thunder for Ibaka. Ibaka proved to be a bad fit in Orlando after not even lasting a whole season.
After drafting Jonathan Isaac out of Florida State with the sixth pick in the 2017 NBA Draft, Porter could be another target on their radar.
Isaac is a 6’10” wing player who averaged 12.0 points, 7.8 rebounds and 1.2 assists per game as a freshman with the Seminoles in 2016. He gives the Magic a bright future to look forward to and adding Porter, another 6’8″ wing could give Orlando fans even more to be excited about.
