2017 NBA free agency is officially under way and the Los Angeles Lakers have been quiet. Still, they’ve been rumored to be targeting these three players.

We all knew the Los Angeles Lakers weren’t going to make a splash during 2017 NBA free agency. However, now that the first couple of days have passed and the team has avoided the spending frenzy, we’re starting to get a better idea of what their plans are.

Up to this point, the Lakers have made it clear their focus is on saving cap space until 2018 free agency. Their sights are set on signing Paul George and LeBron James, so making sure they have money to spend come next offseason is imperative. Still, with several holes in the roster, it’s safe to assume they’ll make at least a couple of moves this year.

We’ve already learned from Lakers Nation’s Serena Winters that general manager Rob Pelinka’s main focus is adding some shooters. There’s solid depth in the frontcourt at this time, so I would figure that any spending would happen in the backcourt.

That lines up with the rumors we’re hearing right now. The Lakers have turned their attention to a few notable names since the start of free agency. All are guards, and Ben McLemore was also a target before agreeing to a deal with the Memphis Grizzlies.

So without further ado, let’s take a look at the three players the Lakers are rumored to be targeting right now. Whether agreements are coming is still to be determined, but it’s interesting to see who the team is looking at nonetheless.
