Houston Rockets: 5 potential free agency targets in 2017
C.J. Miles
It is already being rumored (by Alykhan Bijani) that the Rockets are interested in bringing Miles to Houston. Such a pairing makes a lot of sense, with Miles providing even more shooting for Mike D’Antoni.
Last season, Miles shot 41.3 percent on three-pointers while averaging 10.7 points per game. Also, Miles hit 50.8 percent of his corner threes, which accounted for nearly 31 percent of his total attempts from beyond the arc. Miles would certainly get more of those beloved corner threes in Houston.
While he is a weak defender (career defensive box plus-minus of -1.5), Miles would bring a spark off the bench for the Rockets, with either Paul or Harden consistently creating good looks for him.
With the Indiana Pacers trading Paul George and entering a rebuild, the 30-year-old Miles will probably be looking to sign with a team better suited to win now. The Rockets certainly present that opportunity, yet at the same time can offer Miles decent money using their exceptions. A pairing of Miles and the Rockets looks like a match made in heaven, and he would certainly be a great addition for Houston’s bench.
