The Indiana Pacers are in the process of remaking their roster now that Paul George has been traded. Here are five realistic free agent options for the team this summer.

The Indiana Pacers became a team in flux after news broke that Paul George did not plan to stay with the franchise on a long-term basis.

There has been a great deal of debate as to how the Pacers will alter their team-building strategy in the wake of George’s imminent departure and now, his subsequent trade to the Oklahoma City Thunder.

However, it seems clear that Indiana will not undergo a complete rebuild.

Ownership and management have never taken this approach in the past, in part because they feel the fanbase would not have the patience for it.

In terms of free agency, it’s a fact that the Pacers have never been able to lure top-flight free agents to Indianapolis, and there is no reason to believe that will change.

So no, Pacers Nation — players like Stephen Curry or Kevin Durant are not walking through that door, even if the team had unlimited cap space available.

Indiana doesn’t feel it can afford to hit the reset button and risk losing a fanbase that is already racked with apathy, but at the same time, the franchise has not been able to attract top talent in free agency either.

Given the limitations the Indiana Pacers have to work with, here are five free agents that are potentially attainable and could help the team remain competitive in the short-term and perhaps beyond.
