Three years ago, Shaun Livingston signed with the Golden State Warriors on the first day of free agency. As July 1 again approaches, the veteran point guard is back on the market.

Shaun Livingston has been, on a whole, the best backup point guard in the NBA over his three seasons with the Golden State Warriors. He’s more than made good on the three-year, $16 million deal he signed in the summer of 2014.

However, his age (32 next season) and Golden State’s greater free agent priorities mean that he’s not due for the pay raise that he’s otherwise earned. He could seek it elsewhere, but irresponsible spending across the league last summer and a slew of free agent point guards will likely shrink those options as well.

Having said that, there are teams out there who will pay Livingston as the elite role player, NBA champion and terrific teammate he is. Whether they offer him enough — in money and in circumstances — to pry him from the Warriors is another question.

Here’s a look at Livingston’s five best landing spots, ranked in order of likelihood.
