5. Kyle Korver, SG/SF
Kyle Korver is a player that can stretch the floor and he would give the Warriors another three-point shooting threat. The Warriors’ second unit needs players who are capable of capitalizing on open shot opportunities while its stars rest.
Korver is a shooter who immediately commands respect anywhere near and beyond the three-point arc. After a down year in 2016, Korver shot a better percentage from deep in 2017. This took place despite him taking more shots per game and averaging fewer minutes per game.
A tremendous voucher for Korver’s shooting prowess is that LeBron James trusted him with a clutch shot in the closing seconds of Game 3 of the 2017 NBA Finals. Despite the shot clanking off the rim, LeBron was unrelenting in his support of his decision to pass to Korver. Taking away one of their rivals’ most trusted bench weapons would be an excellent addition for Golden State.
Korver would need to place more emphasis on his defensive game in order to maximize his benefit to the Warriors. However, he brings veteran leadership and an exceptional shooting ability, both of which would make him easy to integrate into the team’s culture and system.
