5. Gordon Hayward is still ascending

Gordon Hayward’s best years are probably still in front of him. In the 2016-17 season, Hayward averaged career highs in points, rebounds and three pointers made per game. The 27-year-old will probably play his best basketball over the next two or three seasons.

Although the Utah Jazz are in the Western Conference, their style of play resembles that of an Eastern Conference team. The Jazz hang their hat on defense, and they prefer to play half court basketball over the run-and-gun style.

Utah is so methodical offensively, that they ranked last in the NBA in pace. In Boston, Hayward’s scoring numbers would likely increase because the Celtics have more possessions per game. His ability to score on all three levels as a wing puts him in a rare category in the NBA.
