1. Minnesota Timberwolves

The Minnesota Timberwolves are a very popular team in the NBA as of late. They traded for Jimmy Butler during the 2017 NBA Draft and now have a big three of Karl-Anthony Towns, Andrew Wiggins, and Jimmy Butler. All three of those players were top 20 scorers in the NBA last season.

This is an intriguing young core as those three players have an average age 23.3 years old. In addition, they are looking to trade Ricky Rubio and upgrade the point guard position.

Scoring is not an issue for the Minnesota Timberwolves. They need veteran leadership, bench production and defense. Andre Iguodala would provide all three of those things. This signing makes perfect sense for both parties and the Timberwolves will have a shot to make a deep run in the playoffs by taking Iguodala away from the Warriors and adding him to their arsenal of weapons.

He will likely ask for a lot more money than he is currently making with the Warriors. That will make this a difficult negotiation for the Timberwolves, but if worse comes to worse, they still have plenty of cap space to put to good use.

With the addition of Butler, the Timberwolves may be able to convince him to take a slight discount to chase a championship with them (though it couldn’t be too large of a discount, because then he’d be better off just re-signing with the Warriors).

The Timberwolves will be hoping that he is interested in helping revive a franchise that has not been to the playoffs since 2004. That happens to be the same year Andre Iguodala was drafted into the NBA.

Andre Iguodala has a lot of great options to call his home team next season. He can sign with a conference rival, start for a rising team, chase a title repeat, finish his career where it all started, or help a team make the playoffs for the first time in over a decade.
