5. San Antonio Spurs

Playing for the San Antonio Spurs is an interesting option for Andre Iguodala. The first reason is because the Spurs are a Western Conference rival of the Warriors. The second reason is because this is a team that is almost there, but needs another piece to contend with Golden State.

Iguodala would get them closer to the level they were at when they won the 2014 NBA championship that forced the fallout of the Miami Heat.

The Spurs were planning to target Chris Paul during free agency, but that plan was ruined when the Los Angeles Clippers dealt Paul to the Houston Rockets in a trade. It would take some financial sacrifice to make this happen considering the Spurs’ salary cap situation, however.

Defensively, the Spurs would be a tough team to play against if they landed Andre Iguodala. He is one of the best one on one defenders in the NBA. They already have an amazing defender in Kawhi Leonard, so they could continue to run with a defensive strategy. That would be one way to slow down the Golden State Warriors.
