1. Issac Humphries
Issac Humphries is a 19-year-old seven-foot center who came from Australia. He played two years in the NCAA under coach John Calipari at Kentucky. During his 2016-17 season, he averaged 2.8 points and 2.8 rebounds in just 8.3 minutes per game. He played in 38 games for the team, but only started one game due to injury.
Humphries’ stats are in no way impressive, but the 255-pound international is an imposing force, and moves incredibly well for a man his size.
One of the reasons he might’ve gotten a chance in Summer League is because he can make highlight plays like this one below:
An NBA executive might be willing to take a chance on him because of his fierce aggression and ability to maneuver around the hoop. Players have been known to stay hidden in Kentucky when they aren’t seeing consistent minutes; it’s one of the main reasons Devin Booker was drafted 13th.
Humphries should be given more minutes in Summer League, where it’ll be interesting to see if that bolsters his stats.
