Realistically, the Clippers already have plenty of scoring potential on offense. However, with re-signing Paul and Griffin a priority this offseason, it could force them to let sharpshooter J.J. Redick look for work elsewhere.

How would they replace that type of efficient shooting, especially from the outside? One option would be to go out and sign Danilo Gallinari, arguably one of the most effective shooters set to hit the market this offseason. It wouldn’t be a solve-all for Los Angeles, but it would certainly help.

Over the last few years, Gallinari has emerged as one of the NBA’s top shooting wings. Whether he’s spotting up from midrange or sinking one from deep, he never seems to struggle with putting the ball in the basket. It’s that type of dependability on offense that the Clippers could use more of moving forward.

Especially if Redick departs, a new ace is needed on the wing. While Gallinari would be a pricey option that several teams will be intrigued by this offseason, this is a dream scenario. With no salary cap to worry about, the Clippers would be wise to give it everything they have to upgrade their shooting at small forward.

It also doesn’t help that Luc Mbah a Moute is also scheduled for free agency. Hence, the need at the 3-spot.
