Richard Hamilton was the seventh overall pick by the Washington Wizards in the 1999 NBA Draft out of the University of Connecticut. The sharpshooting swingman spent three seasons with the Wizards before being moved rather impatiently by the franchise.

Hamilton averaged 15.6 points, 2.8 rebounds and 2.4 assists per game and started in 111 of 212 games for the Wizards. He seemed to be developing into a star among stars until the team traded him in the 2002 offseason. In September 2002, he was traded by the Washington Wizards to the Detroit Pistons.

Hamilton became a three-time All-Star with the Pistons, where he spent nine seasons (2002-11). He averaged 18.4 points, 3.8 assists, 3.4 rebounds and 0.9 steals in 631 games for Detroit. He won an NBA championship with the team to wrap up the 2003-04 season.

Hamilton finished his career with the Chicago Bulls in the 2012-13 season. His career in the NBA spanned 14 seasons with three different NBA teams.
