Career stats (with the Hawks): 578 GP, 14.3 PPG, 8.9 RPG, 2.7 APG, 1.2 BPG, 53.5 FG%, 34.0 3P%, 74.3 FT%
The Atlanta Hawks have made a top-10 selection in the NBA Draft 12 times since 1980, but no player among them has been more productive than Al Horford.
The team has missed on several occasions, such as the choices of Shelden Williams, Josh Childress, DerMarr Johnson, Adam Keefe, Rumeal Robinson and Jon Koncak, but finally landed an impact player when tabbing Horford.
After leading Florida to consecutive NCAA titles, Horford was the third overall choice in 2007, and he went on to become a four-time All-Star during his nine seasons with the Hawks.
While he failed to carry Atlanta to the NBA Finals, the Hawks qualified for the postseason each year during Horford’s tenure and he was an intricate part of the squad that won a team-record 60 games during the 2014-15 season as he posted 15.2 points, 7.2 rebounds and 1.3 blocks per game.
Horford ranks sixth in blocks, eighth in rebounds and 10th in made field goals in Hawks franchise history.
