Chicago Bulls: 3 reasons not to trade for Jordan Clarkson

Despite the Chicago Bulls needing a major roster shakeup, trading for Los Angeles Lakers guard Jordan Clarkson would not improve the team.

We have reached June, where the Chicago Bulls inch closer to making their first offseason move. Rajon Rondo is continuing to rehab his broken thumb and wrist injury, Dwyane Wade is out in Miami living it up and Jimmy Butler is giving interviews on Jimmy Kimmel.

However, that does not mean the entire offseason will be quiet for the organization.

Or that the rumor mill has slowed down.

Most recently, the franchise has come up as a possible landing place for Los Angeles Lakers guard Jordan Clarkson.

According to Comcast Sportsnet Chicago‘s Mark Strotman:

"“Clarkson isn’t the answer to the Bulls’ struggles. But he is a rare player that a) the Bulls can afford, b) improves the current roster and c) increases the team’s future outlook… Clarkson would improve the Bulls and, perhaps most importantly, give some clarity to the point guard dilemma they’re currently facing.”"

It is true that adding Clarkson could help the Bulls further figure out the direction they want to go in. After all, he certainly fits the mold of younger and more athletic. Not to mention that financially, his contract would make sense.

But even so, trading for Clarkson is not a move Chicago should pursue this summer. Here are three reasons why.
