Honorable Mentions

Los Angeles Lakers — The Lakers are always in these conversations, Bosh spends his summers in L.A., and his former agent — Rob Pelinka — is the team’s new GM. However, the Lakers are rebuilding through youth and a player with limited time left in the league would have more competitive alternatives.

Washington Wizards — Bosh could easily jump from an Eastern contender of the past to one of the future by forming a Big Three with John Wall and Bradley Beal. However, the Wizards already have Markieff Morris at the 4 and they’re not quite in the same echelon as some of the other teams on this list.

Los Angeles Clippers — Again, Bosh spends his summers in L.A., and if Blake Griffin walks in free agency, he could form a new Big Three with Chris Paul and DeAndre Jordan. Or, ideally, the Clippers re-sign both CP3 and Griffin, taking on Bosh at a minimum price to bolster a thin bench.

Dallas Mavericks — Bosh is a Dallas native. That’s really all we’ve got here, since the Mavs aren’t competitive enough for a playoff push with an over-the-hill Dirk Nowitzki, and will be geared toward a youth movement once their lovable German retires.

Toronto Raptors — This could be an attractive, low-cost option considering Toronto’s status as a contender and Bosh’s time with the franchise, but between Kyle Lowry, Serge Ibaka, P.J. Tucker and Patrick Patterson‘s free agencies, this cap sheet is a little too unpredictable at the moment.
