The Golden State Warriors may not have made it look easy, but they’re now up 1-0 against the San Antonio Spurs after a crazy Game 1 comeback.

What a start to the 2017 Western Conference Finals. The Golden State Warriors are expected to win every series they play since adding Kevin Durant, but the San Antonio Spurs led by 20 points at halftime in Game 1 and at one point were up by 25.

That is, until All-Star forward Kawhi Leonard went out with an ankle injury after Zaza Pachulia ended up underneath him during a jumper. Kawhi’s injury changed everything for the Spurs, who suddenly had a lot of trouble generating offense.

The Warriors came all the way back despite the huge deficit and won the game by a score of 113-111. Kawhi’s status for the next game in the series has yet to be determined, but his injury will obviously play a massive role in the rest of the series.

He’s the only All-Star on a team up against a collection of four such players in Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, Draymond Green and the aforementioned Durant. The Warriors are a super team in every sense of the word, but they were still down huge at one point.

To get a read on the rest of the series and the rest of the postseason, let’s look through five takeaways from the action on Sunday afternoon between the Dubs and the Spurs.
