For the second consecutive season, one could ague that Draymond Green is the most valuable player on the Golden State Warriors. He may not be the best player on the roster, but his value is immense.
Stephen Curry and Kevin Durant are the best players on the Warriors, but it’s Green who continues to be the glue to both the offense and the defense.
Green currently ranks No. 2 in the NBA in both Real Plus-Minus and Defensive Real Plus-Minus. It’s a fair indication of what Green brings to the table as a versatile defensive player who can elevate the level of play of those around him.
This past week, Green reestablished how valuable an offensive player he can be with a series of strong performances, as well.
Green began this past week by putting up 23 points and eight assists during a 114-100 win over the Sacramento Kings. Two games later, he put up 19 points, nine rebounds, four assists, and three steals during a 113-106 victory over the Houston Rockets.
Green’s statistics are often subtle on the offensive end of the floor, but there’s no defensive player more versatile and, perhaps, no leader more crucial to their team’s success.
