What more can one realistically say about Oklahoma City Thunder superstar Russell Westbrook? On a team with few 3-point shooters and no other player who can consistently create their own offense, Westbrook has become a one-man system.
As the race for MVP winds down, Westbrook decided to bless the masses with one of the greatest individual performances in NBA history.
Westbrook began this past week by posting 39 points, 13 assists, and 11 rebounds against the Houston Rockets. He followed with 37 points, 13 rebounds, 10 assists, two steals, and the game-winner during a 92-91 victory over the Dallas Mavericks.
Just as it seemed as though James Harden was getting a leg up on the competition, Westbrook made history with the highest-scoring triple-double in NBA history.
Westbrook led Oklahoma City to a comeback victory over the Orlando Magic with 57 points, 13 rebounds, 11 assists, and three steals. It was the most points any player has scored with a triple-double in NBA history.
For those who doubt how much the triple-doubles actually help Oklahoma City, it boats win percentages of .815 when Westbrook has a triple-double and .333 when he fails to.
