Stephen Curry and the Golden State Warriors are beginning to look like the team that won 73 games in 2016-17. Over the course of the past six games, Curry has outplayed and defeated the likes of James Harden, Kawhi Leonard, and Russell Westbrook.

On the strength of his recent resurgence, the two-time defending MVP has silenced his critics and restored his status as a force of nature.

Curry began this past week by posting 27 points, 12 assists, seven rebounds, six steals, and five 3-point field goals made in a 114-100 win over the Sacramento Kings. He followed with 21 points, 11 assists, and four steals in a 106-94 victory against the Memphis Grizzlies.

What followed were back-to-back road victories over Harden and the Houston Rockets, and Leonard and the San Antonio Spurs.

In what’s been called a down season, Curry is still one of four players averaging at least 25.0 points and 6.0 assists per game. The other players who are averaging at least 25 and six in 2016-17 are James Harden, LeBron James, and Russell Westbrook.

Though he may not win a third career MVP award in 2016-17, Curry has played at an MVP-caliber level against the highest level of competition in recent weeks.
