After becoming the sixth player in league history to score 70 or more points, FanDuel NBA lineups are eager to find out what Devin Booker can do for an encore.

The final numbers from Devin Booker’s epic performance against the Celtics were simply staggering.

The 20-year-old joined Elgin Baylor, Wilt Chamberlain, Kobe Bryant, David Thompson and David Robinson as the only players in league history to ever score 70 points in a single game.

Booker’s point total was simply staggering, as he failed to reach 20 points during his single college season at Kentucky and in his first 146 career games in the NBA, never totaled more than 39 points in a single game.

Friday in Boston, Booker set six career-high totals, as he poured in 70 points in 45 minutes. Along with the epic scoring performance, Booker set career marks in field goals made (21), attempted (40), free throws attempted (26), free throws made (24) and matched a career-high by connecting six times from three-point range.

Booker managed to provide more of an impact for FanDuel NBA leagues by adding eight rebounds, six assists, three steals and a block.

When the final buzzer sounded, Booker had submitted a 91.6 fantasy point effort in FanDuel NBA leagues, nearly matching his total output in his previous four games.

The outstanding performance wasn’t enough for the Suns to capture a victory, a trend that has plagued the team throughout the season. Booker has scored 30 or more points on 11 occasions this season, only Phoenix has posted a 4-7 record in those games.

For a team with only one meaningful performance for the rest of this season, next month at the 2017 NBA Draft lottery, the entire team rallied around the hot shooting of Booker.

The team has shut down veteran players such as Eric Bledsoe, Tyson Chandler and Brandon Knight in an attempt to secure the best odds at the top pick this summer.

Phoenix is 22-51 this season, just 0.5 games ahead of the Lakers’ second-worst record in the league. By losing additional games, the team could go from a 15.6 percent chance of landing the top pick to 19.9 percent.

With little to actually play for during the remainder of the regular season, the entire team rallied behind the special performance of Booker.

Suns coach Earl Watson even aided the performance by attempting to slow down the clock with intentional fouls, timeout calls and designing plays for the 20-year-old guard to reach the mark.
