The Cleveland Cavaliers have been erratic since New Year’s Day, but they remain the class of the Eastern Conference. Surrounded by shooters and fresh faces, few have benefited more from the revamped roster than Kyrie Irving.

Irving has been a dynamic player throughout his NBA career, but in 2016-17, he’s beginning to make the leap to NBA superstardom.

Irving is averaging a career-high 25.1 points per game on a career-best 47.0 percent shooting from the field. Playing on a team as deep as Cleveland undoubtedly helps, but that combination of production and efficiency is a testament to his development as an individual player.

Soon to be 25 years of age, Irving is already one of the best scorers in the NBA and one of the most feared clutch shooters in recent memory.

This past week, Irving displayed his versatility. He posted 22 points, eight rebounds, and seven assists against the Orlando Magic, had 28 points and eight assists against the Houston Rockets, and tallied 26 points and six assists in three quarters against the Detroit Pistons.

To close out his brilliant week, Irving needed just three quarters to drop 21 points and four assists on George Hill in an impressive win over the Utah Jazz.
