Interviews With Pop Were Always The Best

It’s hard to find better television than when Sager got the opportunity cover San Antonio Spurs games. You never quite knew what you were going to get during sideline interviews.

Spurs head coach Gregg Popovich has always provided the best interviews and Sager seemed to have a connection with Pop that no one else did. He always got the best of him. Popovich is known for very short, dry interviews but not with Craig.

Sager brought something out in Pop that no one else could. Whether it was short answers, joking about Sager’s questions, or just being his friend, Popovich never disappointed when he got a chance to interview with him.

Craig was so genuine in everything he did and Popovich saw that. They connected on a friendly level.
