Top Four Centers
- Marc Gasol ($8,400) vs. Golden State Warriors
- Rudy Gobert ($7,400) vs. Sacramento Kings
- Marcin Gortat ($6,100) vs. Milwaukee Bucks
- Pau Gasol ($6,000) vs. Brooklyn Nets
Rationale:
- The entire Memphis offense revolves around Marc Gasol. The lofty amount of injuries have decimated the scoring attack of the Grizzlies, leading to Gasol scoring 41 percent of the team’s total points Thursday against the Trail Blazers. The 7-foot-1 center connected four times from three-point range, part of a 36-point outing, two shy of matching a career-high. Gasol has poured in 25 or more points in four of his past five games, or 27.3 percent of the total points for Memphis.
- San Antonio opted to sit Pau Gasol out on the second night of consecutive games, as he didn’t even make the trip to Dallas with his teammates. By sitting out for the first time all year, Gasol has been playing his best basketball of the season. The four games following his day off have produced averages of 14.5 points, 9.0 rebounds, 1.8 assists and one block per game. For good measure, he even connected six times from three-point range in the four-game span, after making seven shots from beyond the arc in his first 18 games with San Antonio.
