The Charlotte Hornets have achieved an 8-6 record through 14 games. The driving force behind the Hornets’ strong start to the 2016-17 NBA regular season has been starting point guard Kemba Walker.
Walker hasn’t yet made the All-Star Game, but the 26-year-old is playing at a Top 15 level during the 2016-17 NBA regular season.
Walker began the week by stepping up in the clutch and helping the Hornets defeat the Atlanta Hawks 100-96. He then tallied 25 points, seven rebounds, and five assists at the New Orleans Pelicans and had 17 points against the Memphis Grizzlies.
In what was easily his toughest test of the week, he recorded 26 points, nine rebounds, and seven assists against the San Antonio Spurs.
Charlotte has hit a bit of a rough patch, but Walker has been an absolute revelation. It’s not just the All-Star numbers that he’s posting, but his uncanny ability to consistently step up during clutch situations.
It’s only November, but if Walker can continue to play at this level, he’ll be an All-Star come February.
