Rationale:

  • The fact that Nets center Brook Lopez is scoring 20.7 points per game isn’t a surprise as the figure is two points above the average for his career, but where the points are coming from is shocking. Lopez never converted a shot from three-point range for the first six years of his career, then has totaled just three makes from beyond the arc over the last two years. Lopez has made four shots from three-point range in each of his past two games, adding a new dimension to his FanDuel NBA value.
  • For six consecutive games, Toronto center Jonas Valanciunas has grabbed at least eight rebounds. The average of 9.7 rebounds a game Valanciunas is posting ranks as the 13th best in the league. Along with his impressive rebounding figures, Valanciunas is shooting 57.8 percent from the field, the seventh-best mark in the NBA, and is averaging a career-high 13.5 points per game.
