3. Tryonn Lue Wants To Continue Progression Of Last Season

No coaching controversy this year, this team belongs to Tyronn Lue.

One of the first things Lue mentioned was how important it was to have everybody in training camp healthy. Smith is the only piece missing. The first thing he talked about was implementing Kevin Love into the offense more.

He wants to have him play inside-out, instead of outside-in. Lue believes that if Love can improve both on a consistent basis, he’ll be unstoppable.

Maybe not as good as he was on the Minnesota Timberwolves, but effective and problematic for opposing defenses.

However, the biggest thing he wants to do is cut down on the minutes for The Big Three — especially James.

According to Dave McMenamin of ESPN.com, Lue will be focused on managing the minutes of The Big 3 during back-to-back and four-in-five night type of games.

James played a career-low 35.6 minutes per game, which was extended to 39.1 when the postseason began.

"“I try to make myself available for my teammates every night, and I think I’ve had some pretty good coaches over the last few years, with Erik Spoelstra my last couple years there [in Miami] and now Coach Lue has done a great job of just trying to help me take care of my body,” James said, “Because I’m very stubborn when it comes to wanting to play.”"

Lue also addressed the current void at point guard. He believes that the Cavaliers will have a “point guard by committee,” approach until something is finally decided.

Some fans might take that as Jordan McRae, Kay Felder, Iman Shumpert, and even James getting minutes there, but it will probably be decided through training camp.

He even mentioned camp invitee DeAndre Liggins as a possibility.
