Oct. 28, 2016: Cavaliers at Toronto Raptors

The Raptors got the proverbial monkey off their backs last season. Not only did they finally get past the first round of the playoffs, they made it all the way to the conference finals for the first time in franchise history.

What was the reward for Toronto’s impressive accomplishment? A showdown with the defending conference champions.

Surprisingly, the Raptors didn’t go away quietly and held their own through the first four games. In the end, though, the Cavs concluded matters in dominant fashion, as they beat the Raptors by a combined total of 64 points in the final two games of the series.

This will be the first road game of the young season for the Cavs, and it should be a good early-season test against the team that finished just one game behind them in the standings last year.

With their home crowd cheering them on, the Raptors will do their best to show that last season’s remarkable playoff run was not an aberration, but rather a sign of things to come.
