Nov. 3, 2016: Cavaliers vs. Boston Celtics

The Celtics finished the 2015-16 campaign as the No. 5 team in the Eastern Conference. Following a first-round defeat at the hands of the Atlanta Hawks, Boston signed former Hawk Al Horford during the offseason.

A little bit of history here. In the 2014 playoffs, Celtics forward Kelly Olynyk injured Kevin’s Love shoulder, which ended his first-ever playoff appearance.

Fortunately, Love’s absence did not prevent the Cavaliers from winning that first-round series in four games.

Additionally, James and the Cavaliers have swept Horford and the Hawks out of the postseason in each of the last two seasons.

Horford represents one of the biggest offseason acquisitions for this franchise in quite some time, and the Celtics are hoping this addition will help them close the gap between themselves and the defending champs.

The Celtics want to prove they belong among the elite teams in the conference. And the best way to do that is by going toe-to-toe against the reigning champions.
