Oct. 25, 2016: Cavaliers vs. New York Knicks

The Cavaliers will kick off the season with a home game against Carmelo Anthony and the New York Knicks. For the Cavs, this will be a final reminder of their incredible championship run in 2015-16.

Meanwhile, the Knicks will be one of many teams seeking to knock off the defending champs. Although it is the first game of the new season, this should be a high-scoring affair considering that two of the league’s dominant scorers will be on the court.

Former Bulls Derrick Rose and Joakim Noah would love nothing more than to hand the Cavaliers an early loss, as this will be the second time they will have watched a James-led team receive its rings on opening night.

The first occurrence took place back in 2013 when James was a member of the Miami Heat.

Despite that motivation and Rose’s comments about the Knicks being a super team, look for the Cavs to come out on top in this one.
