Bimbo Coles was basically the offense as a senior at Virginia Tech, averaging more than 25 points and nearly five rebounds and four assists per game.

The Miami Heat acquired the rights to Coles in exchange for Rory Sparrow in a draft night trade with the Sacramento Kings in June 1990.

He made his way back to Miami as a free agent in September 2003 before retiring in 2004 and joining the coaching staff with the Heat.

In parts of seven seasons in Miami, Coles averaged 8.7 points, 4.2 assists, 2.3 rebounds and 1.0 steals in 25.0 minutes per game, shooting .439/.275/.801.

He was taken in the second round, 40th overall, by the Kings in the 1990 NBA Draft.

Coles was traded to the Atlanta Hawks in June 1999.

He signed with the Cleveland Cavaliers in August 2000.

Coles went to the the Boston Celtics as a free agent in March 2003.
