Glen Rice was an All-American and was the Most Outstanding Player at the Final Four after leading Michigan to a national title as a senior, averaging nearly 26 points and more than six rebounds per game.
The MiamI Heat, looking for a scoring threat, took Rice with the fourth overall pick in the 1989 NBA Draft.
He was an All-Rookie selection in 1989-90 and was second in the NBA in three-pointers in 1991-92 and fourth in 1992-93.
Rice was traded in November 1995 with Matt Geiger, Khalid Reeves and a first-round pick in 1996 to the Charlotte Hornets in exchange for Alonzo Mourning, Pete Myers and LeRon Ellis.
In six seasons in Miami, Rice averaged 19.3 points, 4.9 rebounds, 2.2 assists and 1.2 steals in 35.7 minutes per game, shooting .459/.386/.835.
Rice was a three-time All-Star and two-time All-NBA selection with the Hornets, leading the NBA in three-point shooting in 1996-97.
He was traded in March 1999 to the Los Angeles Lakers and was part of their 2000 title team before being traded in a four-team deal to the New York Knicks in September 2000.
Rice went to the Houston Rockets in a three-team trade in August 2001 and was moved to the Utah Jazz in September 2003 before having his contract bought out four days later.
In October 2003, he signed with the Los Angeles Clippers and retired after being waived in January 2004.
Rice is 21st in NBA history with 1,559 3-pointers and 37th with a three-point percentage of .400.
