4. Washington Wizards

The Washington Wizards have made a lot of strong moves this summer. However, they have a weakness at backup point guard. While Trey Burke came into the league with a lot of hype and promise, he hasn’t quite panned out.

Burke is a shoot-first point guard that isn’t a strong or efficient scorer.

The absence of a quality backup point guard creates a window of opportunity for Marshall. He would provide continuity from the starters to the bench, by being a pass first point guard like John Wall.

In addition to that, he would be able to provide spacing next to Wall as a 37 percent shooter from three for his career. While Marshall doesn’t really help them on the defensive end of the floor, the Wizards have enough quality defenders to hide him.

The presence of Wall means that the Wizards don’t have to count on their back up point guard for heavy minutes. With that being said, having a contingency plan in place in case Burke doesn’t work out would be a wise play.

The Wizards are trying to turn around their franchise and make it back into the playoffs. That goal becomes more achievable by adding depth and increasing their margin for error.
