Despite winning only one NBA title, the Cleveland Cavaliers have fielded a few standout players over the years. Today, we will take a look at the team’s all-time starting five.
Prior to 2015-16 season, the Cleveland Cavaliers had never won an NBA title. Not only that, no sports franchise in the city had won a championship in 52 years.
Although the Cavaliers reached the Finals for the second straight season, their hopes of winning a title seemed dim at best after they fell behind 3-1 against the 73-win Golden State Warriors.
But thanks to LeBron James and Co. becoming the first team to overcome such a deficit in the Finals, Cleveland can now call itself the city of champions.
Based upon the amount of postseason futility this team has endured, it would be easy to conclude that a lack of talent was the primary reason for the team’s championship drought.
